Bishopstown Library

Bishopstown Library Bishopstown Library was officially opened on 8 December 2006, the largest of the six local public libraries in the city. Housed in a modern and spacious building, making extensive use of natural light, it incorporates the best features of modern library design. The library is a modern multi-use facility and was shortlisted for national and European design awards in the past.

As well as offering public lending facilities, the library includes three multi-purpose sections — a group study & meeting room; an exhibition room; and a children's multi-purpose room. Each one can be adapted for a variety of community-based and library-event purposes.

In keeping with a progressive and modern theme, Bishopstown Library provides access to personal computers, a digital scanner, and internet facilities. You don't have to be a member to use the Internet or computer facilities, or to use the library as a free reading space and leisure space. However, only currently-registered members of Cork City Libraries can borrow material from the library.
