Heritage
Cork City Libraries provide access to a wide range of information on Ireland’s heritage, including: landscapes, seascapes, geology, archaeology, architecture, flora, fauna, and wildlife habitats. Information on Cork’s heritage is especially provided for in our Local Studies department and on our new and growing Cork Past and Present web site. Cork City Libraries support the Heritage Council’s functions of promoting interest, appreciation, and pride in and enjoyment of our local and national heritage.
Our Reference department provides many books, journals, magazines, and indexed articles and newspaper clippings dealing with Irish heritage. For those interested in our music heritage, the Rory Gallagher Music Library has a comprehensive collection of music of many tastes. More general support for school heritage projects is available though our network of local libraries.
