Adult Chess Club

Make your move and improve your strategy every Wednesday from 2.30pm. Our Adult Chess Club welcomes players at all levels. There are no fees and chess boards and sets are supplied.

Adult Literacy Classes

Literacy Classes are held on a weekly basis in the Library. Entry to the  group is by an informal interview with a qualified literacy tutor.If you know of anyone who would benefit from classes at either beginner or intermediate level  please contact any staff member in Bishopstown Library, we would be glad to help.

Caint is Comhrá

Our friendly Irish Group meets every Thursday at 2.30p.m.The aim of the group is to encourage conversation in the Irish language.If you have a cúpla focal or would like to learn some why not come along and meet the group. New members are always welcome. Tá fáilte roimh gach éinne

Creative Writing

Scribblers our Creative Writing Group aimed at people who like to write has had a very successful first year and are always glad to welcome new members. The group will meet every Wednesday from 6.30-8.00pm.

Lucky Dip Book Club

The bookclub with a difference! Members chose their own book and chat informally about books and authors. There are opportunities to attend book launches, trips and visits to places of literary interest. This vibrant and active group meets on the first Friday of every month from 11.00-1.00pm

Bishopstown Toastmasters

Bishopstown Toastmasters meet weekly, in the Library, from 11.00am to 12.30pm. Through the medium of Toastmasters men and women from all walks of life develop their personal skills and this is turn helps to develop the community overall. Wilton Gramophone Circle

Wilton Gramophone Circle will begin in January of 2009. The Circle will hold recitals on the fourth Thursday of the month, and the presenter is Michael Cotter. A wide selection of music will be played to cater for all moods and styles, everyone is welcome and admission is free. The programme starts at 3.00pm and runs until approximately 4.30pm. Parking is available in the Wilton Shopping Centre.
