Operating since 1975, when our Mobile service used to serve six areas of the city over six days each week — before the opening of local libraries in Douglas (1976), Hollyhill (1980), Mayfield (1984) and Bishopstown (2006) — the Mobile service now  operates from the Blackrock–Mahon area, while we await the setting up of a permanent library in the Blackrock–Mahon area.
