Since December 2009, our Mobile library service operates on TUESDAYS ONLY. The service is provided in Mahon and Blackrock on alternate Tuesdays, 10.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m. & 2.00–5.30 p.m.

Operating since 1975, when our Mobile service used to serve six areas of the city over six days each week — before the opening of local libraries in Douglas (1976), Hollyhill (1980), Mayfield (1984) and Bishopstown (2006) — the Mobile Library now serves library users from two stop points, in Blackrock and Mahon, while we await the setting up of a permanent library in the Mahon peninsula.

Transport access: The no. 202 bus stops near the Pier on Blackrock Road. You can walk to Avenue de Rennes from the no. 202 bus stop near the CSO office on Skehard Road, or from the no. 202 bus terminus on Ringmahon Road.
