Gramophone Circles

Gramophone Circles have contributed considerably to the musical life of Cork City since the 1950’s. Music lovers meet regularly to share their favourite music with each other.

 The following is a list of gramophone circles throughout Cork city and county:

• Academy Gramophone Circle: meets in the Middle Parish Community Hall, Grattan St. every Tuesday night, 8.00-10.30 pm.  Sept – May.

• Ballincollig Public LibraryGramophone circle: meets on the last Tuesday of every month at 11.00a.m Sept. – June. Tel: 4873024.

• Bishopstown (Ballinaspig) Gramophone Circle: meets on the Wed. following the 3rd Saturday of every month in the crypt of the Church of the Holy Spirit, Dennehy’s Cross. 2.30 - 4.30 p.m.

• Ballinlough Gramophone Circle: meets on the 4th Thursday of every month in the Pastoral Centre beside the Church 8.00p.m -10.15p.m. Sept. - May.

• Ballyphehane Library Gramophone Circle, Tory Top Road: meets on the last Tuesday of every month at 3pm. Sept –June. Tel: 4924934

• Carrigaline  Library Gramophone Circle: meets every 3rd Thursday at 11am. Sept - May Tel: 4371888. David Tracey.

• Douglas  Library Gramophone Circle, Douglas: meets at the library every 1st & 3rd Friday of every month. 11am -12.15pm. Sept. – May. Tel: 4924931/2

• Eircom Retired Members Club (including Gramophone Circle) meets  at their centre in McCurtain St. every Tuesday night at 8.00pm – 10.30pm. Sept- May

• The Glouthaune Gramophone Circle: meets on the 2nd Thursday of every month in the Parish Community Centre at 8pm. Sept. – May

• Grand Parade Library Gramophone Circle: meets on the last Friday of every

• Hollyhill Public Library Gramophone Circle: meets every 2nd Tuesday at 11.00am Tel: 4924928.

• The Lough Gramophone Circle: meets in Greenmount Community Centre, on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of every month 2.30 - 4.30 p.m.

• Macroom  Library Gramophone Circle meets every 2nd Monday of the month at 
  11.00a.m. Sept. – June. Tel: 026-42483.
  
• Marian Gramophone Circle: meets in the crypt of the Church of the 
  Ascension, Cathedral Road every Thursday night 8.00-10.30p.m.
  Sept. –June.

• North Cathedral Gramophone Circle: meets every Wednesday night in the Presbytery
  ( Entrance on Chapel St opposite the Cathedral) 8.00-10p.m all year round.

• St. Joseph’s Community Association Gramophone Circle, Mayfield: meets in the Community Centre beside the Public Library on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 11am. Sept. – June.

• Turners Cross Gramophone Circle: meets in the Church Hall every Tuesday night 7.30p.m – 9.45p.m.
