The Irish Times digital archive is now available at Cork City Libraries free of charge. The service can be accessed at any public library or school in Ireland. The archive contains the entire Irish Times from its first edition in 1859 to the present. For further information click on www.askaboutireland.com
This is free to use on one of our PCs in the Reference Department. Read & Write 10 GOLD is a “one stop solution” for reading and writing needs, bringing comprehensive literacy support through a unique set of features for the user with literacy or learning difficulties. Features include: Allows pages to be scanned and read, uses word prediction, reads from the web, has a step-by-step video tutorial, reads PDF documents.

An Eclipse Reader Machine is now available to the public, free of charge in the Reference department on the Grand Parade, Bishopstown, Tory Top and Mayfield libraries. It is designed to aid people who are visually impaired or dyslexic. The Eclipse Reader allows you to magnify text size, change either background colour or the colour of the text. Other features include adjustable brightness, the ability to underline a sentence and blanking which facilitates easier reading and tracking of text.
