Creative Writing Groups

Bishopstown Writers meet at Bishopstown Library  on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 6.15p.m. New members welcome.

Wilton Writers are a creative writing group that meet at Bishopstown Library on Tuesdays at 3.00p.m. New members are welcome.

Fight to Write is a creative writing group for young adults that meet at  Bishopstown Library  on Saturdays at 3.00p.m. New members are welcome.

Wednesday Writers Group meet in Blackpool Library on Wednesdays at 11.00a.m. Contact Blackpool Library on 021 4924933 for further information.

Cork City Library's first Summer School of Creative Writing came to a fitting finish on Thursday, 1 September in Central Library, Grand Parade, with an Evening of Readings by students of the classes. Author William Wall was our special guest and he opened proceedings with words of inspiration and encouragement for the budding writers. The students who read from their works were: John Dolan from Hollyhill Library, Karen Duke and Áine Ring from Blackpool Library, Catherine McNeill and Helen Healy from Mayfield Library, Lisa Barrett and Ethel Aherne from Douglas Library, Mary O'Shaughnessy and Michael Lynch from Bishopstown Library, Marie Guillot, Josephine Lenihan and Claire Devaney from Central Library, Grand Parade, and Aidan O'Sullivan from Tory Top Library.
