Awards for Irish writers

Irish writers have recently won or been shortlisted for major literary awards. Kevin Barry has won the Goldsmiths Prize 2015 for his novel Beatlebone, while Anne Enright and Sara Baume have been shortlisted for the Costa Book Awards, Enright for her novel The Green Road, and Baume in the Costa First Novel Awards for her book Spill Simmer Falter Wither. All three titles are available in the library. Picture on the left shows Kevin Barry at the Goldsmiths Prize winners' announcement on 11 November.

Teen Graphic Novel project - submissions invited

Cork City Libraries are now taking submissions for a teen graphic novel to be published by the Library and launched on Teen Day during the World Book Festival, April 2016. Artists must submilt 2-5 pieces of art and writers must submit a short outline of their story ideas. Closing date for submissions, Friday November 27th.
