Douglas Library

New Douglas premises July 2009 Location: Douglas Library is situated on the first floor of  Douglas Village Shopping Centre, was officially opened in April 2010, and is jointly funded by Cork City Council and Cork County Council. Cork City Libraries staff, manage, stock, and administer this library.

Access to the library: by stairs, lift and escalator from the ground floor and from the parking levels above.

Opening Hours: Tuesday to Saturday:  10.00 a.m. – 5.30 p.m. with a late opening Thursdays till 8.00p.m. The Library is Closed on Bank Holiday Saturdays and Public Holidays. There is no late night opening during July or August.

Who can use the Library? :The Library is open to all to visit. Membership is available to everyone who would like to borrow from our collections. For more information download our Douglas Library Brochure.

How to renew your items: If you want to renew an item you have borrowed you can do so in person but you also have the following options:
•  Online through our Catalogue, you will need your four-digit PIN (personal identification number) available at any of our libraries.
•  Speak directly to a member of staff by telephone at 021 4924932, (please remember that items cannot be renewed by leaving a voicemail message). 

Transport access: 
Bus no. 206 (South Douglas Road) stops outside Leonardo's Restaurant, Church Street, on the south side of the shopping-centre car park. 
Bus no. 207 (Douglas Rd) stops by the Shell Garage in East Douglas Street.
Bus no. 216  stops in East Douglas Street  (Route: South Mall - Douglas Rd - Rochestown Rd - Clarke's Hill - Monswood / Mount Oval;  Return route: Monfield - Landsborough -      The Borough - Broadale - Maryborough Hill - South Mall) . 
Bus no. 219, on the orbital route between Bishopstown and Mahon, stops by the Shell Garage in West Douglas Street.  Some stops on the orbital route include the CUH, Sarsfield Rd, Togher, the Lough, Ballyphehane, Turner's Cross, South Douglas Rd and Mahon, before returning westward again.

Free car parking is available in the shopping centre.  A three-hour limit on parking is monitored up to 5.30 p.m.

Public-access computers with Internet: Our computers are open to use by all who visit the Library, one of these is an Express Computer for quickly checking e-mails, Two Internet enabled computers are available exclusively for use by children. A scanner is available on selected Computers
