Mayfield Library reopened on 3 January 2017, after the installation of new heating system.
Cork City Libraries are delighted to reinstate this important service to the community and would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding during our recent closure.
Mayfield Library, situated near Montenotte on the Old Youghal Road, serves the people of the north-east suburb of Cork city and its surrounding area. When it opened to the public in November 1984, this was our fifth local library branch. The Mayfield Library is officially named the Frank O’Connor Library, since it was dedicated in his memory in October 1999. A permanent exhibition commemorating O’Connor’s life is on display.
