Cork City Libraries opened a new and attractive local library in Tory Top Road in September 2005, near the Ballyphehane Community Centre.  This replaced the earlier smaller library which operated from 1974 until 2004 on part of the same location.  The new library includes a community room to accommodate activities organized by the library or by other groups/organizations.  Uniquely among Cork City Libraries, the new Tory Top Library incorporates an enclosed garden (375 sq. metres). 

Opening Hours: Tuesday 10.00 a.m. – 8.00p.m. & Wednesday - Saturday 10.00a.m. - 5.30p.m.

Books & related stock:  51,121 items (January 2011).

No. of public-access computers with Internet access:  Sixteen public Internet computers are available to members and non-members. Twelve public Internet computers are available for adults and four are available for children. Two other computers are dedicated to the Library Catalogue. Internet bookings can also be made by telephoning 4924934, after 10.00 a.m.

Transport access:  Bus no. 4 stops beside Marian grotto at corner of Tory Top Park on Lower Friars Road, just across from library corner.
Bus no. 3 stops near Church of the Assumption on Pearse Road.  Street parking is free on Tory Top Road.
