Cork International Short Story Festival The Lonely Voice
The Lonely Voice: A Study of the Short Story Frank O’Connor’s The Lonely Voice, published in 1962 was one of the earliest and most seminal analyses of the short story form. It has been republished several times since, various editions carrying introductions by Russell Banks, Richard Forde and Kevin Barry. This event features Cork-based practitioners of fiction discussing the continued relevance of O’Connor’s book and comparing the takes of the various introductions. With authors Danny Denton, Mary Morrissy, Billy O’Callaghan and moderated by Patrick Holloway.
