Members can borrow up to 12 items for three weeks at a time:

Adults
12 items: including books, DVDs, music CDs, and audiobooks.

Y15 membership

  • For Young Adult 15 years - 17 years
  • Can borrow 12 items: including books, DVDs, music CDs, and audiobooks.
  • Items can be borrowed from the adult, young adult and children’s sections of the library, and DVDs rated E, G, PG, 12, 15+.
  • Young adults cannot borrow DVDs with an 18+ rating or adult graphic novels.

Y12+ membership

  • For Young Adults 12 years - 14 years 
  • Items can be borrowed from the children’s, young adult or adult section.
  • Can borrow up to 12 items including: books, CDs, audiobooks, and DVDs rated E, G, PG and 12 . 

Y12 membership

  • For Young Adults 12 years - 14 years
  • Items can be borrowed from the children’s or young adult section, but not the adult section.
  • Can borrow up to 12 items including: books, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs rated E, G, PG and 12. 

Child membership

  • For children 0 - 11 years
  • Can borrow 12 items from children's sections only, and DVDs rated E, G and PG.

Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring that the items borrowed by their children are age appropriate.

eBooks

Library members can get a free BorrowBox account to download five eBooks and five eAudiobooks. Visit our Read Online section for the link to BorrowBox and information on how to set up your account.

Renew

You may renew an item you have on loan, if it has not been requested by another borrower, as follows:

  • In person, with your library card, at any of our self-service kiosks by selecting ‘Account’.
  • In person, with your library card, at the library desk.
  • By telephoning between 10.00 a.m. and closing time, with your library card. Please note we cannot renew items from voicemail messages.
  • Online, with your library card at Library Catalogue

To renew online you will need your membership barcode and PIN.

PIN

If you join in person, a PIN will be assigned to your account. You are advised to change that PIN online as soon as possible. If you forget your PIN you can reset it online.

If you join online, you will set your own PIN during the joining process.

Please note: Library staff are unable to reset your PIN for you due to Data Protection regulations.

Visit our library catalogue and your online account.

Request an Item

You can place requests on items that are out on loan to other members, or items that are in any other public library in Ireland. In the library, you can ask staff to place requests for you. You can also place requests through your online Library Account, for this you will need need your library card and your PIN.

Fines

There are no fines for overdue items.
