Old Dogs, New Tricks: A Musical Journey

Virginia Giglio (Irish flute), Neal Dunnigan (fiddle), and Colin McLean (guitar), present their musical story of coming to Ireland. A journey not without its risks. For Neal, it meant taking up the violin as a new instrument, and for Virginia it meant developing the Irish flute as an extension of earlier musical experience. Then, to make themselves sound as good as possible, they “grabbed a younger fella” —guitarist Colin McLean — and suddenly the music really lifted in an intergenerational collaboration and learning journey. This event blends a short, informal talk, live sets, and an enjoyable Q&A. (Lifelong Learning Festival event)
